(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The actress was in the city to launch a financial solution firm

bollywood actress karishma kapoor was in dubai at the weekend for the launch of icare advisory a boutique financial solution firm in the uae headed by leena parwani. karishma was once one of bollywood’s most sought after actors but she fell off the map and subsequently took a sabbatical from acting in 2004 after her marriage. she made a comeback with the box office disaster dangerous ishhq in 2012. she was last seen in bombay talkies (2013) in a cameo.

city times spoke to the actress who is currently satisfied with various roles in her life and does not miss the big screen.

how does it feel to be in dubai?

it is always wonderful to be in dubai. i love dubai and try to come here as often as i can. it’s just a stone’s throw away from mumbai so it is great to be here. the city is always buzzing and alive. the shopping and food are excellent so it’s always lovely to come here. this time i am here for the launch of icare which is a financial boutique. the reason why i associate with the brand is because leena parwani takes such a good interest in finance related to children which is something i relate to and that is why i am here.

motherhood suits you beautifully. is being a mother the most important role in your life?

i think being a mother is a beautiful thing and that is why i wrote a book as well because i wanted to tell my story and reach out to young moms and tell them to be ‘out’ there. motherhood is the most integral part of my life and everything else is secondary.

do you have any plans to do more television or movie projects soon?

i do a bit of television now and then. i do a lot of endorsements. i love to do different kinds of things. i think today it’s important for me to do things differently; it’s not just about doing a movie. so i keep trying various things. i was a radio jockey last year where i had my own radio show giving style tips to people across india. i have no idea what i am going to do next.

how do you maintain your fitness levels?

being fit is part of my life and lifestyle. there is no pressure that i must look like this or that. i love food i love to eat whatever i feel like. i am someone who totally endorses leading a healthy lifestyle. i eat everything within limits if i want to eat a brownie or cupcake i go ahead and eat it but i also exercise regularly and yoga is a big part of my life. arti?khaleejtimes.com
