shaikh nahyan said that the awards has helped in inspiring others and it also helps improve the competition between the clubs.

“these awards allow others to follow suit and inspires them. it helps to improve the arabian gulf league. it helps improve the players and the competition between the clubs. it was a very good idea and instituted by shaikh hazza bin zayed al nahyan. it was good last year and it has been very successful and i’m sure it will benefit as a whole” he said.

he also said that the uae has become the sporting capital of the world with many top drawer events being held here.

“the uae as a whole has done well and last year we had the under-17 world cup. now we are hosting a lot of events starting from horse racing to tennis and cricket. we hosted the ipl and that was successful. they played the first leg of the ipl here in the uae” shaikh nahyan said.

“so the uae has become a sporting hub. we have developed first class infrastructure for all the sports. i will encourage all our boys and girls to take part in all sports and not limited to one gender. we are fortunate to have a leadership which encourage our youth to participate in all kind of sports and excel in whatever they do” shaikh nahyan added.
