Saudi Arabia announces coronavirus fatality, two new cases


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Sunday that one person died of, and two others tested positive for, the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS or coronavirus) in the last 24 hours. The fatality was reported by the health directorate of Ta'ef while the two infection cases were located in Riyadh and Jeddah, the Ministry said in a statement on its website. A man and a woman who have been diagnosed as coronavirus patients are in a stable condition, the statement said, noting that a man has recovered from the fatal disease here. The two new confirmed cases took to 531 the total number of cases, including 169 fatalities, since the outbreak of the disease in the Kingdom in 2012.
