Italian GDP down -0.1 percent in April


(MENAFN) According to The Italian Statistics Institute in Rome, the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dropped last month in an unexpected way, QNA reported. In a report by the institution, it said that the Italian GDP declined to -0.1 percent, compared to 0.1 percent expansion in the previous month, while analysts expected Italian GDP to increase 0.2 percent. GDP contracted 0.5 percent on annual basis in the financial year ended March 31, after recording 0.9 percent contraction a year earlier, falling to meet analysts' expectation of 0.1 percent contraction.
