Malaysian economy grows 6.2 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) Malaysian economy posted a strong growth of 6.2 percent in the first quarter of 2014, compared to 5.1 percent growth in the last quarter of 2013, QNA reported. This robust economic performance has beaten all analysts' expectations of a 6 percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth as surveyed conducted to economists. The country's stellar economic performance in the January-March period of 2014 was driven by a stronger expansion in domestic demand and a turnaround in net exports, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) said.
