Palestinian officials hail UAE humanitarian aid


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) According to its annual report the hai provided $8 million in humanitarian and development aid for poor palestinians in 2013 in coordination with palestinian agencies.

senior palestinian officials have greeted the uae for providing continuous humanitarian aid for underprivileged palestinians who they said rely on arabs and muslims in their struggle for freedom and independence.

sultan abu al-einein former advisor to palestinian president mahmoud abbas hailed the uae’s assistance to palestinians as a continuation by the president his highness shaikh khalifa bin zayed al nahyan of the humanitarian legacy of the nation’s founding father the late shaikh zayed bin sultan al nahyan.

abu al-einein in his speech on thursday at a celebration to mark the launch of the annual report of human appeal international uae (hai) thanked uae charities and humanitarian agencies for their ongoing operations in palestinian territories. he emphasised the launch of the report as palestinians mark al nakba day (the ‘catastrophe’ of palestinian forced exodus during 1948) shows that arab and islamic presence the uae’s presence in particular is what palestine relies on as it struggles to obtain independence and achieve freedom.”
