Indian poet enthralls Urdu lovers

(MENAFN - Arab News) A top indian poet enthralled urdu lovers with his eloquence and insights during a poetry session in riyadh on thursday night.

the mushaira was organized by an indian literary group bazam-e-rubab-e-sehra to honor anwar kamal a renowned urdu poet from new delhi the indian capital.

kamal read out couplets on current affairs related to the ummah problems facing the community across the globe and indian politics.

rubab-e-sehra awarded kamal with the "durrah-e-imtiaz" a literary honor.

hasham sayyid a poet from canada also participated in the session. in his poetry he called on the ummah to unify and create a new golden era of islam. he made several references to the glory days of islam in his couplets.

haneef tarin chairman of rubab-e-sehra saudi arabia presided over the session which was also attended by nadeem tarin a prominent riyadh-based educator and industrialist.

other poets also delighted the audience with their poetry included tarin saeed akhater shahid khayali mohammad masihuddin khurshidul hasan nayyar tahir bi lal hashmat ali and sadaf faridi.

around 300 community members including poets and heads of various voluntary organizations attended the mushaira.
