Romania's economic growth up 3.8 percent

(MENAFN) Local media reported that Romania's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3.8 percent in the January-March period compared to the same period a year earlier, Xinhua reported. Local media cited preliminary estimates published by the EU statistics agency, Eurostat, saying that Romania's growth pace is leading in the EU. In its 2014 national budget, the Romanian government projected an economic growth of 2.2 percent. It is noted that the European Commission recently revised its estimates of Romania's economic growth in 2014 and 2015 to 2.5 percent and 2.6 percent up from 2.3 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively.
