(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) To promote art as a profession in Oman, the Bait al Zubair Museum recently launched a new art space, Bait al Dalaleel.
The art space will provide a common platform for writers, artists and researchers to collaborate and discuss on various issues.
Located inside the museum, the space will not only host workshops, but also see exhibitions by Omani and international artists every month.
The space will also have lectures, seminars, shows and discussions regarding art and culture.
''We hope these will be regular activities. The idea is to get people involved in learning and understanding art and inspire them to become professional artists. Discussions on art, tradition and culture will help artists exchange and promote art in a better way,'' said Fahad bin Mahmood al Hasni, exhibitions and collections manager.
In June Bait al Dalaleel will also launch a one-month 'Art History and Practical Summer Course' as part of its Renaissance to Street Art programme. This course will be conducted by Dr John Dickerson, visiting lecturer, Richmond American International University, London.
The four-week course has been designed to introduce the students to contemporary art.
