(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The National Business Centre (NBC) on Wednesday signed an agreement with Anwar al Majed United Company.
A press release stated the agreement comes in line with NBC's mission to support entrepreneurs and start-ups in order to achieve the desired growth in the domestic market and markets abroad.
According to Abdullah bin Rashid al Badi, owner of Anwar al Majed United Company, the idea to create the company came from a graduation project in 2010.
''After getting a patent for a monitoring device for power networks, the company received a licence to do business with electricity distribution companies like the Muscat Electricity Distribution, Mazoon Electricity Company, Majan Electricity Company, Dhofar Power Company and the Rural Areas Electricity Company,'' he said.
Badi said that the company provides a range of services, including building electrical sub-stations, laying out electrical networks and installing electronic meters. ''When NBC was inaugurated, a pact was signed with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) to establish a factory which can operate in electrical networks areas. The agreement had a provision for technical, logistics and administrative support by Shumookh Investment and Services.''
NBC was started by PEIE at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas into ventures. ''The centre provides businesses with support, guidance, training, as well as access to markets and fully equipped office space,'' the release said
