Pakistan mourns death of mine workers in Turkey


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Pakistan expresses sorrow and grief over the tragic mine incident in Turkey which resulted in the loss of over two hundred precious lives, the Foreign Office said Wednesday. "As our Turkish brethren mourn their national loss, the people of Pakistan stand in complete solidarity with them," said Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam in a press release. "We offer our deep condolences to the families of the deceased and pray for safe rescue and early recovery of the still trapped miners," the statement added. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs called in the Ambassador of Turkey on Wednesday and conveyed deepest condolences over the death of the miners. He also conveyed the readiness of the government of Pakistan to extend all possible help in the rescue efforts. President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Husain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have both sent message of heartfelt condolences to the Turkish leadership over the incident.
