(MENAFN - Arab News) Mobily officially sponsored the activities of the" international telecoms week 2014" which was held recently in chicago us.

mobily's participation in this global event is characterized with distinction and excellence as the company occupies the global leadership position in 4g international roaming services.

this contributes to highlighting the company's position among the international and regional providers as one of the advanced providers for the international services.

this meeting is considered as the largest gathering of international wholesale service providers and operators in the world attended by more than 6000 participants representing about 1900 companies from more than 140 countries around the world.

these companies vary from wholesale and carrier services to manufacturers of networking around world.

mobily took partin this meeting to learn about the latest developments in services and communication technology and to exchange experiences with many of the participants in addition to viewing its great presence through highlighting many strategic services already launched in collaboration with international operators such as advanced connectivity services and international roaming.

in this respect mobily participated effectively in terrestrial and submarine international cables as well as possessing an enormous amount of capacity which enhances the exchange of international telephone data and internet services.

additionally mobily possesses one of the biggest and latest ftth networks in the kingdom.

mobily has announced recently that it signed an agreement including 17 global operators in europe asia and the middle east to build and maintain a new submarine cable called (aae-1) with very high capacity to link the countries of the far east to europe through the middle east and africa.

the submarine cable extends for a distance of 25000 km starting from hong kong and ending in france.

additionally it will be the first submarine cable linking the far east to europe at the possible lowest rate of delay and high transfer capacities ranging up to more than 40 terabits which will contribute significantly to the growth of the business volume in the countries passing through.

the submarine cable will connect hong kong vietnam malaysia singapore thailand india pakistan saudi arabia oman uae qatar yemen djibouti egypt greece italy and france.
