A Majority of G20 Wants Digital Economy 'At no Cost to End User'


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ala lumpur may 14 (qna) - a majority of group of 20 (g20) wants access to the proposed digital economy at no cost to end user a new assessment conducted by a global coalition says.

a trade efficiency assessment conducted by global coalition for efficient logistics (gcel) shows more than one third of the g20 citizens want the proposed digital economy a bernama report said wednesday.



it also found around 80% of trade participants have no digital system though more that 88% wanted the proposed digital economy platform.

digital economy provides the required tools to reduce annual trade-costs by us$1.3 trillion with china alone reducing the trade-costs by us$148.6 billion.

this in turn increases trade by us$1.2 trillion provides a us $6 trillion services market opportunity and creates a us$ 1 trillion sme fund generating 100 million jobs.



gcel conducted the strategy sessions with china's top 500 foreign trade enterprises club china council for promotion of international trade (ccpit) china association of international trade (cait) asean-china center (acc) and china-asean bac (cabc).

the strategic discussions also addressed china's leadership in empowering the digital economy through humawealth programme is a global programme promoting trade efficiency through a digital economy platform.



gcel said senior representatives from the organization of islamic cooperation (oic) and china also discussed how humawealth could create the world's largest trade efficiency bloc representing 40% of the global population.

gcel plans to conduct trade efficiency assessments for the remaining 15 g20 countries in order to bring the voice of the people to their leaders during the 2015 turkey g20 presidency. (qna)
