Fatah Official: Egypt Pledges to Open Rafah Crossing after Formation of Government


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Za may 14 (qna) - member of fatah's central committee azzam al-ahmad has announced that the egyptian authorities promised to fully open the rafah crossing following the formation of the palestinian national consensus government.



al-ahmad who arrived in the gaza strip yesterday evening through beit hanoun crossing for consultations regarding the formation of the new government of consensus said that he was on a visit to egypt 48 hours before arriving in gaza and met with egyptian officials who are eager to achieve reconciliation.



he told reporters that there was an agreement with the egyptian officials to open the rafah crossing which is the first thing to be announced for the palestinian people as soon as the formation of the consensus government.

officials from fatah and hamas movements have met in gaza last night to discuss the formation of the government consensus with hopes to resolve their seven-year rift. (qna)
