Meeting discusses system to monitor payment of wages in Oman's private sector


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Work on the proposed system to monitor payment of wages in the private sector is gathering pace. On Monday, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Manpower (MoM) under the chairmanship of Salem al Hadrami, director general of planning and development and attended by representatives of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), the Information Technology Authority, the Public Authority for Social Insurance and officials from the General Union of Workers.

Several presentations on how the system will work were made, followed by a demonstration of the software to be used. Under the system, companies will be scrutinised grade-wise. The meeting also discussed the preparation of a technical report to highlight the system's advantages.

The CBO and other regulatory bodies have approved the first phase of the system.

The second phase will include the system's implementation and classifying companies under it. The meeting also discussed the announcement of the system among private sector companies and media organisations.

A committee formed for the task will also organise introductory workshop for companies. There will be special training courses for staff in various governorates who will be briefed on the system's implementation and method.

Plans to celebrate the system's inauguration were also discussed.
