(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) A team from the Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation at the North Batinah Police Command has arrested two citizens for robbing an Asian national in Al Wiqaiba in the wilayat of Sohar.
The victim had filed a complaint at Sohar police station against the two for allegedly robbing him of RO400 and two mobiles in the pretext of offering him lift. ROP sleuths located the two and arrested them. Their case has been referred to the Public Prosecution after they admitted to the crime.

Royal Oman Police arrests two with banned cigarettes, tobacco
Officials from the Directorate of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation at the Dhahirah Police Command have arrested two Asians for possessing and selling banned cigarettes.
Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths reached the village in Ibri where one of the accused was spotted with a bag and moving in a suspicious manner. A search of his bag led to the seizure of banned cigarettes.
Police officials also raided his residence and arrested another expatriate, and recovered a large quantity of smoking and chewing tobacco.
