(MENAFN - The Peninsula) Qatar Football Association (QFA) announced that it will allocate a specific amount of the Emir Cup Final ticket revenues and donate it to the development and relief projects that ROTA and Qatar Red Crescent Society organise inside and outside of Qatar.

ROTA and QFA have also organised an initiative to place eight donation boxes around Khalifa International Stadium and two in the Fanzone area, where spectators would be able to donate money.

Funds that are donated by the spectators will go towards ROTA's local and regional projects.

This initiative showcases how QFA functions on all levels to enhance its role within the local and regional community via social and charity work.

QFA continuously involves its partner non-profit and charitable organizations in its tournaments and competitions for the aim of raising funds, thus, helping all segments of the local and regional community through football.

QFA believes that football is a key factor in developing the younger generation by teaching them life lessons and enriching them with positive values.

It is QFA and ROTA's joint commitment to encourage all segments of the community to participate in the most popular game in the world by organising different community programs and football tournaments that support the local and regional community.

QFA and ROTA recently signed an MoU that sets out the commitment of both parties to support the advancement of youth capabilities and furthering long-term development and leadership capacitybuilding.

Commenting on the allocation of ticket proceeds to Qatar Red Crescent Society, Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi, General Secretary of Qatar Red Crescent Society said: "On behalf of the staff of the Qatar Red Crescent Society, I would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Qatar Football Association, that is headed by the President of QFA, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, for allocating part of the final match ticket revenues to support the activities of the Qatari Red Crescent Society and its humanitarian work."

QFA has also announced that it released its third and final batch of final match tickets that amounts to 15,000 tickets after selling out the first and second batches that were released in the last two weeks.

There is a very high demand for tickets as the Emir Cup final is approaching, QFA announced yesterday.

The Emir Cup final match will be held in the multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium on May 17.

The stadium is known to hold the most important football tournaments and matches in Qatar.

The venue hosted three international friendly football matches between Brazil and England, Brazil and Argentina, and most recently, Paris Saint Germaine and Real Madrid.

It also hosted the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011TM, and 11th Gulf Cup.

Khalifa International Stadium has a capacity of 50,000 spectators, the biggest capacity in all the stadia in Qatar.

It has 22 gates designated just for spectators and for media and TV, and 2 gates for VIP spectators.
