(MENAFN Press) Cards and Payments Middle East, the region's premium event for payment cards and ID, opens its doors today (May 13, 2014) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The 15th edition of the event is expected to be officially inaugurated by Dr. Ali Al Khouri, Director General, Emirates Identity Authority and H.E. Saeed Rashid Alyateem, Assistant Undersecretary for Budget and Revenue, UAE Ministry of Finance.

This year the region's largest smart card and payments event, is expected to feature over 200 exhibitors from across the region and the world to showcase the latest in cards and payments technology and solutions.

The event is also expected to be the launch pad for a range of innovative products including voice biometric solutions, by Uniphore Software Systems, NFC-enabled Oyster card by Austria Card, fingerprint scanner with digital signature integration by Dermalog, Business continuity platforms from Perpetuuiti Technosoft PTE, signature pad from Wacom, immediate payments solution from VocaLink, Omni-channel E-bank Platform from Halcom, multiplatform software application for POS-terminals from Transaction Systems, PIN protection solutions by Schreiner, anti-skimming technology from Diebold, transaction security solutions from Datacard Group, in addition to an interactive in-store and on-line mobile purchasing journey by Gemalto.


About Cards and Payments Middle East
Cards and Payments Middle East is the region's largest smart card, payments and ID event, which brings together all stakeholders of the payments industry including the Middle East financial services sector, regional and international payment solutions providers, payment schemes, telecom companies and retailers. Into its 15th edition this year, Cards and Payments Middle East is organised by the Middle East arm of Terrapinn, a world leader in business events, and will be held on May 13 and 14, 2014, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The 2014 edition of the event comprises six streams including Cards and Payments Middle East, Future Bank, the Retail Show, the e-commerce Show, Digital ID and the Mobile Show. The two-day event will also include keynote sessions, peer-2-peer roundtables and seminars featuring some of the best known experts in the payments space. Cards and Payments Middle East has grown considerably from the 2013 event, which covered 9,700 square metres, featured over 160 companies from 40 countries and welcomed over 4500 visitors from 76 countries.
