(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The cabinet said it has been informed that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has accepted the resignation of Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Nayef Al-Ajmi.

The cabinet appreciated the resigning minister's efforts and good achievements during his term, wishing him best of luck in serving his nation.

The cabinet said it was notified about two decrees appointing Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as acting minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, while choosing Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah All-Mubarak Al-Sabah as acting Minister of Justice, in addition to their current posts.

This took place during a routine weekly cabinet meeting held at Sief Palace on Monday under chairmanship of Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah said in a press statement following the meeting.

The ministers were then apprised of letters recently sent to His Highness the Amir from the presidents of Senegal, Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan on ways and means of reinforcing and bolstering relations between Kuwait and their countries, he said.

The cabinet also approved a draft decree appointing Ghazi Faisal Al-Abdaljaleel deputy chief of the cabinet's financial investigation unit, together with three other draft decrees handpicking Maj. Gen. Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, Maj. Gen. Khaled Al-Diyen and Maj. Gen. Jamal Al-Sayegh as assistant undersecretaries of the Interior Ministry, the cabinet minister added.

Also during the meeting, the deputy premier and interior minister briefed the ministers on the findings of investigations into a recent armed robbery on a money-collecting vehicle at a vegetable market in Sulaibiya, he pointed out.

In this context, the cabinet urged security forces to double their efforts to fight all acts and phenomena that could undermine national security and stability and intimidate citizens, the minister said.

Afterwards, the cabinet discussed issues tabled on the agenda of the National Assembly, together with reports on the latest Arab and international political developments.
