(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmad Al-Jarwan Monday commended Arab Family Organization's (AFO) granting His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the first Arab world prize for humanitarian endeavor and societal enhancement.
He said this prize emphasized the AFO's appreciation for His Highness the Amir's continuous efforts in supporting Arab family and boosting its status and value.
Al-Jarwan, in a statement, expressed content over the choice, as it "adds to His Highness the Amir's humanitarian record and is seen as a token of appreciation for his ongoing humanitarian endeavors at Arab, Islamic and international levels." On May 7, His Highness the Amir received AFO Chairman Jamal Bin Obaid Al-Bah, and members of AFO board of directors, where they presented His Highness with the prize.
Last month, His Highness the Amir also received a certificate of appreciation from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for supporting humanitarian causes and for hosting two donors' conferences for Syria in 2013 and 2014.
