(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) on Monday celebrated the first anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's visit to the company headquarters at Mina al Fahal in 2013.
The day was celebrated with an exhibition and a talk on PDO's achievements and future projects. The exhibition showcased 50 works of art by PDO employees, and as many as 100 Omanis displayed their talents and expertise in photography, poetry, calligraphy, graphic design, sculpture and karate.
PDO also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Manpower to provide training to Omanis at government vocational training centres. The event saw the launch of the new In-Country Value (ICV) recognition award to honour the efforts of PDO staff and contractors. Also, a new directorate will be formed at PDO to look into ICV development.
PDO announced that it will work with the Ministry of Oil and Gas and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates to set up two industrial zones for Omani companies, allowing them close proximity to its operations.
