S. Korea Ranks 33rd in Per Capita GDP

(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Oul may 12 (qna) - south korea ranked 33rd in the world in terms of gross domestic product (gdp) per capita last year up eight notches from five years ago.
a report by the international monetary fund said south korea's nominal GDP per capita stood at 24-thousand-329 dollars in 2013. the report also found south korea's ranking in terms of gdp per capita based on purchasing power parity (ppp) rose from 35th to 27th place according to korea's (kbs world) website.
luxembourg topped the list with its gdp per capita standing at 110-thousand-423 dollars. luxembourg was followed by norway qatar and switzerland.
the u.s. ranked ninth germany 18th and japan 24th while russia placed 51st brazil 62nd and china 85th.
south korea's nominal gdp which demonstrates a country’s economic size amounted to one-point-two trillion dollars last year. south korea continued to rank 15th for the fifth straight year in terms of nominal gdp.
the u.s. ranked first with nearly 17 trillion dollars followed by china with nine trillion dollars. (qna)
