Two Rockets Land in International Kabul Airport


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Bul may 12 (qna) - at least two heavy explosions were heard in capital kabul early monday morning.

the explosions took place after two rockets fired from unknown location landed near the kabul international airport afghan news agency (khaama) reported.

kabul security chief gen. zahir zahir confirmed that two rockets landed in the vicinity of kabul airport early monday morning.

gen. zahir further added that no casualties were incurred following the attack.

the taliban militants group claimed responsibility for the attack and claimed heavy casualties were incurred to the security forces.

taliban spokesman zabiullah mujahid said the two missiles were fired from deh sabz district early monday morning.

nato's international security assistance force (isaf) confirmed it was investigating the attack on the airport where it has a military base.

it also said that mortars have been fired at bagram airport the biggest isaf base in afghanistan which lies north of kabul. (qna)
