(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Bul may 12 (qna) - at least 47 taliban militants were killed in joint operations launched by afghan security forces and the international security assistance force in afghanistan (isaf) during the past twenty-four hours in different regions of the country.
afghanistan's interior ministry said in a statement today that afghan forces carried out with isaf several joint operations killing 47 taliban militants injuring 14 others and arresting 12 others.
the statement added that the operations took place in kunar nangarhar laghman kunduz nangarhar zabul uruzgan paktika farah helmand and nimroz provinces.
the security forces seized large quantities of heavy and light weapons.
however the statement did not say if there were any casualties on the security forces. (qna)
