Dubai grants USD104.5m contract on Dubai Water Canal Project


(MENAFN) Dubai's transport authority said it has awarded a USD104.5 million worth contract for the second phase of Dubai Water Canal Project, according to Arabian Business. The construction contract has been awarded to China State Corporation, and work is scheduled to be completed by 2017, the RTA added. The project, which extends over 3 kilometers, will link Dubai Creek with the Arabian Gulf. The second phase of the project includes the construction of bridges across Al Wasl and Jumeirah Roads. RTA chairman and executive director Mattar Al Tayer said: "The contract of Phase II encompasses the construction of bridges on Al Wasl and Jumeirah Roads above the Dubai Water Canal enabling the passage of 8.5 metre-high yachts."
