Britain's GDP to grow 2.9 percent


(MENAFN) According to a British official think tank, Britain's gross domestic product (GDP) is to exceed its previous peak in 2008, resulting in ending the country's six-year Great Recession, Xinhua reported. The think tank project Britain's GDP to grow by 2.9 percent in the current year, an upward revision of 0.4 percentage points on the forecast published just three months ago. "We have also lifted our GDP growth forecasts for 2015 through to 2017 to about 2.4 percent," said the institute. According to the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, the country's economy witnessed an accelerated growth and is almost near 3 percent compared to a year earlier, after growing slightly in 2012.
