Kuwait pulverizes Palestine 73-22 in W. Asia Wheelchair Basketball Championship

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait pulverized Palestine with a 73-22 score in their opening match of the 6th West Asia Wheelchair Basketball Championship, which kicked off earlier today in Dubai, UAE. "Kuwait National team prevailed and won easily ... The championship is important, especially that the top three teams will qualify to the Olympic Games in South Korea next October," head of the Kuwaiti delegation Anwar Al-Mutawa told KUNA by phone from Dubai. Eight teams are competing in the tournament. Al-Mutawa said Kuwait will go against Syria tomorrow (Sunday) and against Saudi Arabia on Monday. The tourney will last until May 14, with Group A including Kuwait, Palestine, Syria and Saudi Arabia, while Group B includes Iraq, the UAE, Oman and Jordan.
