(MENAFN - Arab News) Madinah gov. prince faisal bin salman will attend the ninth founders meeting of the prince salman center for disability research (pscdr) on sunday in the presence of board chairman prince sultan bin salman.

the meeting will be attended by several princes businessmen and representatives of supporting bodies.

the center will also hold a sixth general assembly meeting on the sidelines following the completion of the ceremony.

these meetings take place on a regular basis once a year to update founders on new and ongoing research initiatives at the center and to deepen liaisons with other centers in the field of disability research.

the prince salman center for disability research has made several national achievements including enhancing care for the disabled and conducting a national study on disability among children in the kingdom.

this study yielded positive initial results aiding in the development of a comprehensive strategy for disability research.

the center also launched a project for early detection of metabolic diseases in newborns in the kingdom which saved thousands of children from disability and death and adopted an accessibility program for disabled persons nationwide in addition to facilitating entry of disabled people into the labor market in collaboration with the labor ministry.

the center seeks to achieve economic integration of handicapped residents through liaising with the saudi credit and savings banks.

the recently introduced national health survey meanwhile represents one of the biggest achievements made by the center which was fruitful through extensive collaboration with the health ministry king faisal specialist hospital king saud university and harvard university.
