Belgian medal for SCTA chief
(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi commission for tourism and antiquities (scta) president prince sultan bin salman was awarded the king leopold medal in recognition of his service in general and contribution to strengthening relations between the kingdom and belgium especially in the field of archaeological excavations.
belgian ambassador marc finnick decorated prince sultan with the medal ordered by king philip of belgium at a function organized by the european union on the occasion of the europe day under the aegis of riyadh gov. prince khaled bin bandar and deputy riyadh gov. prince turki bin abdullah bin abdul aziz on thursday.
a photography expo of european archaeologists working in the kingdom was also opened on the occasion at the national museum in riyadh.
'this medal is an honor and as i wear it i undoubtedly represent all those who have contributed to the archaeological excavation projects undertaken by the saudi european joint teams including belgian archaeologists who possess a very high level of expertise" prince sultan said expressing his pride in participating in the excavation activities.
