(MENAFN - Arab News) Crown prince salman first deputy prime minister and minister of defense has honored mobily for its role as the social responsibility partner of the national initiative for traffic safety (yateek khairha).

the disabled children's association is carrying out this initiative in cooperation with the general directorate of traffic.

this took place during the launch of this initiative last wednesday at his office in jeddah.

akil al-akil senior executive vice president regulatory affairs received the honorary shield on behalf of the company.

al-akil said the participation of mobily in this national initiative which is supported by the custodian of the two holy mosques comes out of its social responsibility and its belief in the role of the private sector toward participation in such campaigns that would enhance the level of awareness toward reduction of traffic accidents leaving behind a lot of deaths and serious injuries and causing a lot of suffering for them and their families.

al-akil stressed that mobily has been sending awareness smss to all community members since the launch of the campaign in an effort to raise the awareness about this phenomenon which has become a major concern for all due to social and financial negative impacts.

al-akil said mobily has harnessed all the technical and financial capabilities to support any initiative that aims to promote a culture of awareness about any negative phenomenon and to continue its positive role in the community.

the aim of the initiative that will cover all the kingdoms regions is to promote the awareness levels and to reduce the ratio of traffic accidents and the consequent deaths and injuries.

the initiative of 'yateek khirha" comes in the light of the high rate of disabilities caused by traffic accidents and the suffering of people with disabilities and their families.

the initiative aims mainly to upgrade the degree of the youth awareness by abiding to traffic rules and regulations which shall contribute to avoiding traffic accidents and mitigates the ratio of disabilities.

it will highlight also on the economic and social losses as a result of disabilities caused by accidents and the transfer of social suffering to their families.

mobily today is one of the partners supporting the disabled children's association through its presence in a lot of occasions that are organized by the association whether through sponsoring such events or by offering direct financial support.

the deputy governor of riyadh honored mobily recently for its support for the 'disabled inventions gallery" which was held recently in riyadh.

mobily has supported the campaign since its inception and was honored by riyadh gov. prince khalid bin bandar during the inauguration ceremony of this campaign at the beginning of the current calendar year.
