Zambia's balance of payment deficit hits USD260.7mn


(MENAFN) According to Zambia's Central Bank, the country has recorded an overall balance of payment support deficit during the first quarter of 2014, Xinhua reported. The Southern African nation recorded a balance of payment support deficit of USD260.7 million during the first quarter of 2014 compared to a surplus of USD28.7 million recorded during the fourth quarter of 2013, Bank of Zambia said. The country's central bank attributed the deficit in balance of payment to high deficits recorded in both the current and capital and financial accounts.
