China's foreign trade hits USD188.54bn in April

(MENAFN) According to the General Administration of Customs (GAC), Chinese foreign trade surged in April, driven by more central policy support and exports to developed markets, Xinhua reported. GAC said that exports increased by 0.9 percent to USD188.54 billion compared to the same period a year earlier, while imports increased 0.8 percent to USD170.09 billion. The country's total foreign trade volume increased 0.8 percent, hitting USD358.63 billion, GAC added. "In our view, this is in line with the internationalization of the yuan, and what we see in other large economies," noted an economist with the Royal Bank of Scotland.
