GovernmentSPLMNorth 7th Round to be Held Next Week


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Artoum may 09 (qna) - assistant to the sudanese president and head of the government delegation to negotiations on the areas of blue nile and south kordofan said the sudanese government will focus during the next seventh round of negotiations with the rebel sudan people liberation movement splm-north on the a comprehensive cease-fire delivery of humanitarian aid and involvement in political and security agreement according to a set timetable to end the crisis in the two regions regions.



ibrahim ghandour told state-run radio omdurman that during the talks slated for the ethiopian capital addis ababa next week the government will reject any unilateral cease-fire because it will be futile and incapable of producing any useful result.

he noted that the other party is trying to internationalize the conflict through the humanitarian issue and that will be rejected by the sudanese government because it will lead to prolong the conflict and exacerbating tension in the two regions.



the previous round of negotiations has made positive progress namely the agreement on the agenda through the strong position of the african union high-level mechanism which stressed that its mandate is limited to the two areas only making it possible to determine the agenda of the differences ghandour said predicting that the seventh round would achieve great successes if it followed the approach of the previous round.

he stressed that his government wants peace to come according to dialogue peaceful solutions and agreements concluded in this regard particularly un security council resolution 2046 and the african union's guidelines.



the splm-north should abide by the law and the constitution and respond to the call for internal dialogue with all political parties and forces gandour said noting that the sudanese government has no intention to enter into a political partnership with the splm (north sector) on a bilateral level and that agreements should be concluded in accordance with the frameworks and results of the comprehensive national dialogue in this regard.(qna)
