New Zealand's food, beverage to double in 15 years

(MENAFN) According to a government report released exports of New Zealand food and beverages are forecasted to double in value to USD40 billion in the next 15 years due to demand in China and the rest of Asia, Xinhua reported. New Zealand still had great potential for increasing or expanding the area devoted to food production, as well as sufficient water and problems with animal diseases, the report published by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment showed. "Doubling exports in real terms in 15 years is a tall order, but all the research backed by the steady flow of business investment and growing demand for New Zealand products suggests it is achievable," Economic Development Minister said in a statement.
