Car sales in Philippine up 19.9 percent in April

(MENAFN) The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) said the country's car sales increased by 19.9 percent to 18,094 units in April compared to the same period a year earlier, Xinhua reported. CAMPI President said that sales in April registered a lower rate by 5.6 percent when compared to the previous month in which it registered 19,173 units sold. "The overall outlook for April was lower because historically, the Holy Week month registers lower sales due to few selling days," said CAMPI President in a statement. In April, passenger cars sales increased by 41 percent to 6,732 units compared to the same period a year earlier, while commercial vehicle sales jumped 10.1 percent to 11,362 year-on-year.
