Fiat's path outside Italy highlights weakness of industrial system

(MENAFN) The path of Fiat Chrysler, the Italian automaker, outside the country has underlined the weakness of the country's industrial system which needs a "solid vision", Xinhua reported. CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles revealed the five-year plan the newly merged automaker is adopting, aiming to see a combined production of around seven million autos per year by 2018. It is noted that the automaker has been working on this fusion as a rescue operation backed by the U.S. government, resulting in ranking it the world's seventh largest automaker since Fiat bought a stake in Chrysler in 2009, before taking a full ownership of it last January.
