(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Oman Shipping Company offers a wide range of shipping solutions, not only to local but top notch global customers which will be highlighted at the fourth edition of TransOman taking place from June 3 to 5 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

OSC has confirmed their support as gold sponsor for Oman's premier event for transport, shipping and logistics organized by OITE Trade Fairs and held under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. TransOman Expo 2014 will offer visitors a comprehensive selection of transport solutions under one roof. The expo will represent players in the air, land, port and heavy machinery sectors from leading transport and logistics organizations both within the country and abroad.

''OSC aims at adding to the in-country-value' by undertaking dry dock repairs for the fleet largely at Oman Dry Dock Company at Duqm and supporting Omani seafarers and Omani seafaring traditions, successful entry and growth in the development of Gulf Express Container Feeder Service connecting Omani ports to Jebel Ali, increasing share of the Omani Exim Trade, increasing participation in Omani coastal movement carrying petroleum products, offering good connectivity on important international trade routes to many local and regional ports, undertaking ship management activities to the best international standards in-house to a large extent, and increasing national cadres in maritime and shipping industry through a cadetship programme offered for national diploma graduates,'' says Tarik al Junaidi, deputy CEO of Oman Shipping Company.

OSC's participation is expected to benefit the target audience and make them aware of OSC's well diversified and stateof- the-art fleet, its size of operations, nature of services on different trade routes, cargoes carried, clientele served etc. In addition, the target audience will also get an idea of future plans of the company, from which trade and also the SMEs can benefit.

Furthermore, the audience will derive comfort from the fact that a national shipping company of global standards is prepared to assist them by offering quality shipping solutions at their door steps in order to support the growth of their respective businesses. OSC is a closed joint stock company, incorporated in 2003 and owned by the government of Oman through the Ministry of Finance (80 per cent) and Oman Oil Company (20 per cent).

The company is involved in ship owning, chartering and technical management activities through its subsidiary companies: Oman Charter Company, Oman Ship Management Company, and Oman Container Line. TransOman 2014 will be held alongside ProjectOman 2014 “ the ideal platform for showcasing Oman's developing market
