(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD) recently organised a ceremony to honour a number of institutions and companies that contributed to and supported community development projects. National Bank of Oman (NBO) was honoured during the ceremony in recognition of its support to social projects and programmes sponsored by the ministry.
The ceremony was held at Al Bustan Palace hotel under the auspices of H E Dr Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhi, Minister of Oil and Gas, and in the presence of H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Said al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development, and a number of officials, including chief executive officers of major companies and banks. Hassan Abdul Amir Shaban, head of government banking at the NBO, represented the bank at this occasion and received the award.
Shaban said, ''At the outset, we would like to congratulate MoSD for its social services, which serve a very important segment of the community. We are also proud of the recognition that we received from the ministry for our contributions to the community. In fact, we consider supporting and developing social projects a key element in the strategy of our bank and an important part of our responsibility as a corporate citizen. Besides, we look forward to playing a greater role in this area in the future.''
NBO continuously endeavours to integrate social responsibility in all aspects of its business. To this end, the bank has identified five areas of focus, which include health and human services, arts and culture, education, environment and women and youth.
