EU to Give 300 Mn.Euro in Loans to Tunisia


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) ussels May 07 -The European Union (EU) decided to give Tunisia up to 300 million euro in loans to support its economic stabilisation and reforms.

The decision was adopted by the the EU finance ministers during their meeting here late Tuesday with a vieew to cover its balance of payments needs.

The ministers also said the macro-financial assistance will be made available for a period of two and a half years starting from the first day after the entry into force of a memorandum of understanding to be agreed between Tunisia and the EU.

The loan will have a maximum maturity of 15 years it added.
