(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kyo may 07 (qna) - the tokyo stocks index tumbled to a three-week closing low wednesday after a long weekend with a wide range of shares sold amid concerns over the yen's appreciation and the mounting tensions in ukraine. the 225-issue nikkei stock average fell 424.06 points or 2.93% from friday to 14033.45 its lowest finish since april 15. japanese financial markets were closed monday and tuesday for public holidays according to japan's (kyodo) news agency. the broader topix index of all first section issues on the tokyo stock exchange finished 30.47 points or 2.58% lower at 1152.01. decliners were led by financial stocks such as brokerage insurance and banking shares as well as paper and pulp issues.
