S. Korean Domestic Demand forecasted to weaken in Q2

(MENAFN) Analysts said that South Korea's domestic demand is forecasted to further weaken in the second quarter of the current year as the deadly sinking of the passenger ferry Sewol is likely to crimp consumer spending, QNA reported. According to data released by the central bank, private spending increased by 3.0 percent in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the fourth quarter of 2013, in which it increased 0.6 percent. "There is a possibility that the recovery of domestic demand may slow in the second quarter. Downside risks increased compared with the first quarter," said an analyst at Samsung Securities Co.
