Kuwait SC crowned champions of His Highness Amir Cup after beating Qadsia 5-4

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait SC football team was Tuesday crowned as champion of the His Highness the Amir Cup, for the 10 time in it history after beating Qadsia SC 4-3 in penalty shoot-out, a game held under patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Kuwait was able to win the title after scoring four times in penalty shootout versus three to Qadsia, after original time ended 1-1. The first half ended goalless, but 10 minutes into the second half Kuwait was able to find the net by Brazilian international Rogerio de Assis who got the rebound and scored the goal. One minute later, Qadsia striker Bader Al-Mutawa scored the equalizer from a tremendous solo effort. Both teams failed to scored in the extra time, sending the game to be decided by the penalty shoot-outs. Kuwait's goals were scored by Tunisian international Shadi Hammami, Abdallah Al-Buraiki, Fahad Awad, and Sherida Al-Sherida. Qadsia goals were scored by Al-Mutawa, Ahmad Al-Dhefiri and Musaad Neda. Kuwait team lost Hussain Hakem who was sent off at the 107 minute after tackling Hamad Aman. Overall, the two teams' performance was fair, with both equally losing almost the same amount of chances in front of the goal, however Kuwait was slightly better in terms of counterattacks. Kuwait SC won the cup in 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2002 and 2009, along with this year's cup. Qadsia won the Cup 15 times.
