(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Indian School Muscat (ISM) Senior Section held the solemn investiture ceremony of its prefects and members of the Student Council 2014-15, on May 4 2014 in the school hall.

Captain Arjun Dev Nair, defence advisor to the Embassy of India, Muscat was the chief guest. Principal, Srinivas K Naidu, vice principals, assistant vice principals, and heads of various departments, staff, students and parents attended the ceremony. The function began with the prayer song sung by the school choir.

The opening of the formal and impressive installation ceremony was marked by the marching in of the prefects, followed by the members of the student council, house captains and vice captains accompanied by the school band. Principal administered the oath of office to the prefects and the members of the Student Council.

The chief guest, Captain Arjun Dev Nair endowed the head boy K R Vigneshwar, head girl, Ankita Sadarjoshi, assistant head boy, Alen Jiji Tom, an assistant Head girl, Angela Alex with their brooch of office.

Head boy K R Vigneshwar received the school flag from the chief guest. The principal conferred badges on the four house captains and handed their individual house flags. The vice principals of the various sections Deep Wilson, Jacob Zacharias, Priya Murali and Prema George honoured the coordinators and the assistant coordinators with their badges of office.

The assistant vice principals of the senior section Kailash Naithani, Geeta Chauhan, the counsellors and the heads of different faculties, privileged the prefects with their coat of arms.

The house masters and the house mistresses honoured the vice captains of each house with their badges. The head girl, Ankita took the pledge on behalf of the members of the Students' Council. She promised to do her best to hold high goals of the school, and to be a role model and to accomplish her duties effectively to preserve the honour and status of the school.
