(MENAFN - Arab News) 35-year-old woman has sought the protection of makkah's general court after filing for divorce from her 39-year-old husband who she claims threatened to kill her with a knife in the middle of the night on several occasions in addition to attempting to poison her and kill her children.the case was filed against the man a teacher at a local school on may 6.the woman has also accused her husband of defamation saying he took photos of her which he threatened to publicize.the woman identified with the initials 'i.m." said that the relationship hit the rocks after 10 years of marriage.she said that her husband 'm.m." routinely beat her and would only threaten her with a knife at night because there was no one around to protect her.the man allegedly said that he daydreams about killing her her three daughters and her son or taking them away from her and prohibiting her from seeing them.the wife reportedly came to court a nervous wreck.'how can i protect myself from him" she asked court officials. 'he is a smoker who used to take drugs and is now on medication for psychological illness. we fear for our lives because he acts erratically."in one incident the woman claims the man beat her and kicked her out of her house after which she stayed with her parents in a makkah neighborhood. she also told the court that he does not give her or her kids any money and that she has to fend for herself saying she has endured years of abuse for the sake of her children.she called on social services and human rights organizations in the region to protect her and her family and give her custody of her four kids. she also called from the education administration to protect her daughters who are studying for the end-of-year exams.
