Qatar- Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Opens Three New Mosques


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) r/>Doha May 06 -The Ministry of Awqaf (endowments) and Islamic Affairs has opened three new mosques that accommodate up to ( 2175 ) worshippers in Glea Umm Salal and Aniza areas . The three new mosques will be added to their counterpart which were launched earlier last month in Aziziya Al-Khor and Lmreikh areas and accommodate 1521 worshippers .

The launching of new mosques falls within the context of the ministry's plan to double the number of mosques in all regions of the state according to specific criteria and architectural heritage and environment in the light of the Qatar National Vision 2030 .

The capacity of the first mosque in Glea reaches to 850 worshipers in the main hall and ( 180) worshippers in the daily hall and 105 in the women hall in addition to the other facilities such public parking areas taking into account the people with special needs and a residence for the imam .

While the second mosque's capacity in umm salal area accommodates ( 536 ) worshippers in the main hall 177 worshippers in the mezzanine or entresol floor and 57 worshippers in the women's hall.

The aforesaid mosque includes three halls for prayer equipped with the latest facilities and equipment for performing the five regular prayers an enlarged ablution a public parking in addition to the residence house of the imam and another annexed to the mosque for the muezzin .

Whereas the third mosque located in Aniza area was wholly equipped to accommodate 270 worshippers in addition to residence house of the imam and another annexed to the mosque for the muezzin .

The mosques department at the ministry confirmed that these mosques have been provided with all facilities to render safe and complete services to the worshippers which come to keep up with population growth in the state.
