(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) r/>Doha May 06 - HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Tuesday met at Al Bahr Palace with President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas and Islamic Resistance Movement's (Hamas) politburo chief Khaled Meshaal.
At the outset of the audience HH the Emir congratulated the two distinguished guests on the palestinian national reconciliation agreement that they reached in Gaza stressing Qatar's supportive stance for all efforts to end the Palestinian internal division and creating the appropriate atmosphere for concluding the reconciliation so as to achieve the interests and ambitions of the brotherly Palestinian people.
For their part President Abbas and Meshaal voiced their gratitude and appreciation to HH the Emir for Qatar's supportive stance towards the Palestinian people in reclaiming its legitimate national rights and establishing an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting also reviewed the latest developments of the Palestinian issue.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his accompanying delegation arrived in Doha earlier Sunday.
