Death Toll from S. Korean Sunken Ferry Rises to 263


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) r/>Seoul May 06 - Search efforts are continuing for the 21st day on Tuesday for the missing passengers of the South Korean sunken Sewol ferry.

The joint search and rescue team comprised of civilians government officials and military said it found one more body at around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday in a cabin on the fourth floor of the ferry.

As of Tuesday morning the death toll stood at 263 with 39 still missing according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.

The joint team said divers gained access to all 64 cabins where missing passengers are presumed to be located. The team added that it will soon relaunch search operations on cabins it previously combed through.

Meanwhile the government's disaster management headquarters has mobilized 35 water surface cleaning vessels to get rid of oil that leaked from the capsized ferry.
