(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Mohammed Ahmed al Murr, chairman of UAE's Federal National Council (NFC) and his accompanying delegation visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque and Bait al Zubair Museum on Monday.
A press release said that officials briefed Murr and his delegation about different phases of the mosque's construction and its unique architecture patterns. The delegation led by Murr also visited the Islamic Sciences Centre, library, lecture hall and other facilities in the mosque.
Besides, the delegation visited Bait al Zubair Museum during the day. At the museum, visitors were briefed on traditional Omani weapons, jewellery, clothes and several household goods on display which shed light on rural and urban lives. Delegation members also took keen interest to know about other cultural and historic items which were on display.
The delegation was accompanied by Salem bin Ali al Kaabi, deputy chairman of the Majlis A'Shura and Ahmed bin Mohammed al Shamsi, president of the Omani side of Omani-Emirate Parliamentary Friendship Group.
