(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Accidents in Ibri and Quriyat on Monday left four persons dead and another injured. Two of those killed in the Ibri accident were Iranian nationals.
The first accident, between a pick-up vehicle and a BMW saloon driven by an Omani, occurred at around 1.30pm in Ibri's Al Homaniya area. The pick-up with two Iranians in it crashed into the saloon car which was cutting across the road.
The Omani and an Iranian died on the spot while the other expatriate died in Ibri Hospital at 7.15pm, Ahmed al Hosni, public relations officer of the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) said. The Omani was a Saham resident and in his 20s, he added.
Elsewhere, a collision at around 6pm near Mazara village in Quriyat claimed the life of one more Omani and left another critically injured. ''One victim was taken to hospital in a PACDA ambulance while the other was brought by the public,'' Hosni said.
