(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) A man who had approached the Consumer Protection Administration in Dhahirah with a complaint of faults in his new vehicle, has won a compensation from the auto dealer following an Ibri Primary Court verdict.
The court also fined the auto firm's sale manager RO100. In his complaint to the Consumer Protection Administration, the buyer mentioned that his new vehicle began having technical trouble. While no repairs were carried out when he sent it for servicing after 1,000km, the dealer insisted that the faults had been repaired, a press release said.
No repairs were done even during the second maintenance following which the owner refused to accept the vehicle and filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Administration. Following legal procedures, the administration sent the vehicle for technical inspection to Dhahirah Police Command to verify the authenticity of the complaint. Technical tests confirmed faults. The auto dealer was shown the report and asked to either replace the vehicle or refund its cost to the buyer. The matter went to court when the auto said it could only be repaired.
